Metabolic and/or Dietary Acids are the Main Cause of Thyroid Cancer

According to the National Cancer Institute, there are about 56,000 new cases of cancerous thyroids in the US each year, and the majority of those diagnoses are papillary thyroid cancer—the most common type of thyroid cancer. Females are more likely to have thyroid cancer at a ratio of 3:1 due to acidic stress and diet. Thyroid cancer can occur in any age group, although it is most common after age 30, and

its aggressiveness increases significantly in older patients who are more likely to be affected by an acidic lifestyle and diet.

A Cancerous Thyroid does not always cause symptoms; often, the first sign of a cancerous thyroid is a thyroid nodule.

•The National Cancer Institute recommends that anyone who received radiation to the head or neck in childhood be examined by a doctor every one to two years to detect potential thyroid cancer.
•The thyroid gland send electrical impulses which are important in the normal regulation of the metabolism of the body.
•There are four major types of thyroid cancer: papillary, follicular, medullary and anaplastic.
•The most common signs and symptoms of a cancerous acidic thyroid include a lump, or thyroid nodule, that can be felt in the neck, trouble swallowing, throat or neck pain, swollen lymph nodes in the neck, cough, and vocal changes.
•Most commonly an ultrasound is performed to confirm the presence of a nodule, and assess the status of the whole gland.
•Surgery is the most common form of treatment for an acidic cancerous thyroid.
•The survival rate and prognosis of thyroid cancer depends upon a few factors, including the individual’s age, the size of the tumor, and whether dietary and/or metaboic acids have fermented other body cells causing a canceorus condition in other glands or organs of the body.

What is the thyroid?

The thyroid is a gland in the neck. It has two kinds of cells that help to regulate the body’s energy needs. Follicular cells release electrical impulses, which regulates heart rate, body temperature, and energy level. C cells regulate and control the level of calcium in the blood to help maintain the alkaline design of the blood at 7.365.

The thyroid is shaped like a butterfly and lies at the front of the neck, beneath the voice box (larynx). It has two parts, or lobes. The two lobes are separated by a thin section called the isthmus.
A healthy thyroid is a little larger than a quarter. It usually cannot be felt through the skin. A swollen lobe might look or feel like a lump in the front of the neck. A swollen or acidic thyroid is called a goiter. Most goiters are caused by not enough iodine in the diet and/or an acidic lifestyle and diet.

What are the types of thyroid cancer?

Thyroid nodules can be benign or malignant. The following are the major types of thyroid cancer:

•Papillary and follicular thyroid cancers account for 80 to 90 percent of all thyroid cancers. Both types begin in the follicular cells of the thyroid. Most papillary and follicular thyroid cancers tend to grow slowly. If they are detected early, most can be treated successfully.
•Medullary thyroid cancer accounts for 5 to 10 percent of thyroid cancer cases. It arises in C cells, not follicular cells. Medullary thyroid cancer is easier to control if it is found and treated before it spreads to other parts of the body.
•Anaplastic thyroid cancer is the least common type of thyroid cancer (only 1 to 2 percent of cases). It arises in the follicular cells. The cancerous cells are highly abnormal and difficult to recognize. This type of a cancerous condition is usually very hard to control because the cancerous cells as they rot and spoil healthy cells causing them to become cancerous.

If a cancerous fermenting acidic thyroid affects other healthy cells (metastasizes) outside the thyroid, cancerous or acidic cells are often found in nearby lymph nodes, nerves, or blood vessels. If the cancerous or acidic cells reach these lymph nodes, cancerous cells or metabolic and/or dietary acids will also flow to other lymph nodes or to other organs, such as the lungs or bones fermenting and/or rotting lugn or bone cells causing a cancerous condition of the lungs or bones.

Since metabolic and/or dietary acids flow through the entire blood and lymph system these cancer causing acids can ferment or rot other healthy cells causing a cancerous condition anywhere in the body. For example, if metabolic and/or dietary acids flow to the lungs they can ferment or rot lung cells causing lung cancer.

Research has shown that people with certain risk factors are more likely than others to develop an acidic or cancerous thyroid. A risk factor is anything that increases a person’s chance of developing an acidic condition due to excess acids.

The following risk factors are associated with an increased chance of developing an acidic or cancerous thyroid:

1. Radiation. People exposed to high levels of radiation are much more likely than others to develop papillary or follicular thyroid cancer.
2. Family history. Medullary thyroid cancer can be caused by a change, or alteration, in a gene called RET. The altered RET gene can be passed from parent to child. Nearly everyone with the altered RET gene will develop medullary thyroid cancer. A blood test can detect an altered RET gene. If the abnormal gene is found in a person with medullary thyroid cancer, the doctor may suggest that family members be tested.
3. Age. Most patients with a cancerous thyroid are more than 40 years old. People with anaplastic canerous thyroid are usually more than 65 years old.
4. Race. In the United States, white people are more likely than African Americans to be diagnosed with cancerous thyroid.

5. Not enough iodine in the diet. The thyroid needs iodine to make thyroid hormone. In the United States, iodine is added to salt to protect people from thyroid problems. Thyroid cancer seems to be less common in the United States than in countries where iodine is not part of the diet.

6. Excessive emotional stress creating excess metabolic acids from an over-active thyroid regulating the body’s energy needs during a stressful event.

7. An acidic lifestyle and diet creating excess acids that may lead to a cancerous thyroid.

Most people who have known risk factors do not get thyroid cancer. On the other hand, many who do get the disease have none of these risk factors. People who think they may be at risk for thyroid cancer should discuss this concern with their doctor. The doctor or health practicioner may suggest ways to reduce the risk and can plan an appropriate schedule for checkups.

What are acidic symptoms of a cancerous thyroid?

Early cancerous thyroid detection often does not cause symptoms. But as dietary and/or metabolic acids spoil healthy cells, symptoms may include:

•A lump, or nodule, in the front of the neck near the Adam’s apple;
•Hoarseness or difficulty speaking in a normal voice;
•Swollen lymph nodes, especially in the neck;
•Difficulty swallowing or breathing; or
•Pain in the throat or neck.

These symptoms are not sure signs of a cancerous thyroid. An outfection, a benign goiter, or another problem also could cause these symptoms. Anyone with these acidc symptoms should see a doctor as soon as possible.

If a person has symptoms that suggest cancerous thyroid, the doctor may perform a physical exam and ask about the patient’s personal and family medical history. The doctor also may order laboratory tests and imaging tests to produce pictures of the thyroid and other areas.

The exams and tests may include the following:

•Physical exam—the doctor will feel the neck, thyroid, voice box, and lymph nodes in the neck for unusual growths (nodules) or swelling.

•Blood tests—the doctor may test for abnormal levels (too low or too high) of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) in the blood. TSH is made by the pituitary gland in the brain. It stimulates the release of thyroid hormone. TSH also controls how fast thyroid follicular cells grow. If medullary thyroid cancer is suspected, the doctor may check for abnormally high levels of calcium in the blood. The doctor also may order blood tests to detect an altered RET gene or to look for a high level of calcitonin.

•Ultrasonography—the ultrasound device uses sound waves that people cannot hear. The waves bounce off the thyroid, and a computer uses the echoes to create a picture called a sonogram. From the picture, the doctor can see how many nodules are present, how big they are, and whether they are solid or filled with fluid.

•Thermography scanning— offers a non-invasive, non-radiologic measurement of thyroid physiology. As such it will not detect nodules or tumors but will provide a representation of physiologic dysfunction which when coupled with history, physical examination and diagnostic ultrasound along with other tests will provide a far greater picture of the thyroid function.

•Biopsy—The removal of tissue to look for cancerous cells is called a biopsy. A biopsy can show cancerous tissue changes that may lead to cancerous conditions. A biopsy is considered by current medical savants as the only way to know whether a nodule is cancerous.

  1. Your absurdly infantile theory about the cause of cancer doesn't gain any credibility by throwing in statistics from the National Cancer Institute. Why don't you contact the National Cancer Institute to see what they think of your quack theory since you are relying on their information to try to give your fraudulent ideas some credibility.

They worked really for Chet Holmes didn't they? His funeral was two days ago.

By the way thermography isn't used to diagnose thyroid function. Blood tests and nuclear scans are used for this.

  2. Hi Claire.

    Very emeotionally charged comments.
It would be of interest if you can elaborate what your relationship with Chet was. Did you know him personally? If not, then where did you get your information regarding the many alternative, and finally the traditional health advices he took?
Did you actually know what Roberts involvement was with Chet, and at what stage he took the Chemotherapy…
I respect that you have your own opinion and that you share it with passion. However, I hope you are also as passionate in your clarification of my questions, and also sharing with everyone what you base your own personal foundation of health upon.

    Thanks kindly.

  3. Claire, I am sorry for your loss. I am a thyroid cancer survivor. I did not use nuclear medicine of any kind. My physician stated that the risks outweighed the benefits of using nuclear medicine and did not recommend it for me. Those risks include potential secondary cancers such as bladder cancer and leukemia.

I used the best of everything I had available to me to kick cancer in the butt. One of which was to follow Dr. Young's program. I believed that alkalizing my body would help me live a long, full, vibrant life. I started on the program in 2009. It is 2012. I still follow the program (in a more “maintenance” vs “treatment” mode.) and now I enjoy and am grateful for, everyday, the benefits of following an alkalarian lifestyle. Love and blessings to you and your family…Pam

  4. BJames,

I would prefer to keep my relationship with Chet my personal business. Suffice it to say that I know what the facts and details of the treatment for his leukemia were. Robert O Young doesn’t fool me or many others with his attempts to revise history.

Robert O Young now claims that Kim Tinkham was cancer free for 5 years while on his alkaline diet. Then, she went off the diet and a new cancer returned in her liver. She then had chemotherapy only to go on and die from liver cancer. Here's the problem with this lie.

Kim was diagnosed Feb. 2007 and she died Dec.7, 2010 of METASTATIC breast cancer to the liver, bone, and brain. She died 3 years and 10 months after diagnosis. This is just about how long you would expect someone to survive with UNTREATED breast cancer. So Young's claim that she was cancer free for 5 years is absurd. From the time she was first diagnosed to the time of her death was 3 years 10 months. Young is also claiming that she had chemotherapy, implying it also contributed to her death. This is also a lie. Kim and her family have publicly stated that she shunned conventional medicine to the very end.

In the case of Chet Holmes, he believed Young's promise to him that the pH Miracle Diet would cure his leukemia. He would forgo his doctor's recommended treatment. And instead turned to the pH Miracle Diet FIRST. It failed him miserably. Chet’s prognosis was grave from the beginning. His one chance at a cure was IMMEDIATE treatment (chemo & transplant). Delaying treatment in favor of drinking green drinks only wasted precious time. In Kim’s case, she had a fairly early breast cancer. With conventional treatment her chances of being cured were very good. With no treatment they were zero. Both Kim’s and Chet’s illnesses and deaths were very public and well documented, even in writing. This is why it is all the more painful and disgusting to see Robert O Young's attempts to rewrite history in order to try and deflect any blame for these two people's tragic outcomes.

Soon after Kim Tinkham’s death, the YouTube videos of her and Robert O Young discussing her breast cancer would disappear down the memory hole. One of the videos in particular stands out. Young is sitting across from Kim as she explains to him that she still has a lump in her breast. Young reassures her that her live blood microscopy reading shows her to be “cancer free”! No worries, that it was just her body walling off and taking care of the cancer. He then tells her to think of the lump in her breast as “a badge of honor”. She would be dead from metastatic breast cancer in only months.

  5. Pam,

I'm not suggesting that chemotherapy, radiation or surgery is appropriate treatment for every kind of cancer. Obviously it depends on the type, stage, patients age and other factors. The point is you DID have science based, tested and proven conventional treatment to treat your cancer. In your case is was surgery. You sound like an intelligent, reasonable person. I don't have a problem with CAM treatments as an adjunct along with proven statistically to work most of the time treatment ie: conventional treatment!

Robert O Young advises people with cancer to forgo conventional medical treatment in favor of his Miracle Diet ONLY. IMO this is dangerous and criminal.

There are no human studies supporting alkaline diets for the prevention or treatment of cancer. I find it odd that Robert O Young calls himself a world renown “research scientist” and yet he's not publish one single scrap of peer reviewed research in any legitimate journal in 30 some years.

  6. Go look up another great Cancer doctor. Leonard Coldwell.

Documented Fact – 2 independent studies in Germany proving it – Not Beverly Hills, that he has seen over 35,000 Cancer patients and has a success rate of 92.3% with anyone that DID NOT have previous ‘conventional’ treatment.
Educate yourself and read about what his philosophy is and you will see the clear parallels with Dr Robert Young’s work.

EVEN BETTER, since you are so confident in your ‘conventional’ treatment, round up all the traditional quacks you know, and see if any of them have had more cancer patients and a higher success rate than Leonard?! You will receive $1Million. Since you work in the ‘science’ industry that should be easy for you – Let me know how you go as that is exactly what Dr Coldwell is offering:

“For 20 years now the Dr. Leonard Coldwell Foundation has a standing offer to the first medical doctor that can prove that he or she has a higher cancer cure rate than I have one million dollars. To this day, not a single doctor has tried to earn the million dollars”

    Dr Leonard quotes:

“Its my opinion that the “chemical doctors” do not have a cure and in my opinion most people would be better off without treatment than with all of the cutting, poisoning or burning”

“In my experience the mandatory treatment of slaughter called surgery, burning called radiation, or poisoning called chemotherapy, leads to unbelievable horror, loss of quality of life, the massive spreading of the disease and most of all inhumane suffering and early death”

Makes sense doesn’t it. People that are sick have a weakened immune system, and does it seriously make sense to you that by putting harmful chemicals into the body is helpful? Give us all a break. BUILD the blood, not destroy it. On top of that, 30% of all patients that receive chemotherapy are dead in 30 days. If God forbid you were ever to get Cancer, I suggest you look for ‘alternatives’.

Clearly Claire you don’t know what you are talking about. There is no intelligence about what you have written. You come here to this post and write absolute rubbish, when it is clear you have a chip on your shoulder.

As soon as you write “science based, tested and proven CONVENTIONAL treatment to treat your cancer” in the same sentence, then I know you are lacking in true understanding and enlightenment. Pop out of your bubble in Beverly Hills and go travel the world – to Africa for example and take a look first hand at what ‘conventional’ treatments are doing to the world. You are just another person caught up in the delusional big pharma mentality.

Just so you know, I have no affiliation with Robert Yong whatsoever. I have never met him. But when logic slaps me in the face, not just in Health, but across the width and breadth of life, then I at least TRY it and come to my own conclusions.

  8. Let me ask you a simple question: Have you ever actually tried Robert Young’s philosophy or belief for yourself, or are you just another blogger who has plenty to say, yet hasn’t even tried eating, drinking, and living healthy as he suggests? Which ultimately is the foundation of Robert’s principles and LIFEstyle. That is the only answer I, and many other here that believe in Robert Youngs principles need to know. If you haven’t, then save your time writing foolish things, and enjoy the sun, or sport, or great mediation, yoga, laughter, the happiness and joy of this wondrous life…

You are obviously on a crusade against Robert. And although I personally believe they could make some adjustments to the message the Youngs send out, what they teach is as rock solid as anything around today. Another fact.

Whatever you may think about Live Blood analysis it isn’t rocket science to understand that blood that is acidic – ie STUCK TOGETHER doesn’t flow down a ‘single file’ capillary very well, nor the ability to carry oxygen and nutrients. And by the way…Which part of your intelligent comments mentions the MIND and EMOTIONS? All those traditional and conventional doctors have training in psychology don’t they?!?! Ok, so you forgot to mention that CRTICAL piece in the Recovery equation. So just cut poison and burn as Dr Coldwell quotes, and don’t treat the root cause of many health problems – the Mind. Have a think Claire. A LONG hard think about what you write and what you believe Claire.

Rather than attack someone on 2 ridiculous cases, maybe you should go and understand what ‘nutritional’ training your conventional ‘quacks’ receive.

You mentioned intelihealth. Do me a favour and go to http://www.intelihealth.co.za/

Let me quote what they write:
“HEALTHY EATING is the intelligent choice, and a lifestyle decision that can affect your quality of life substantially”

“Over the past 30 years, at least a 100 studies has been published in medical literature documenting the cost-effective benefits of long term constructive lifestyle changes to sustain health and longevity”

The first word HEALTH EATING. Did you see that? I think that means Nutrition!

And they also mention Lifestyle. Sounds familiar doesn’t it!

  9. Lets move onto Chet Holmes. Whom, let me say I absolutely Love, and his situation and pain did bring me to tears. I was batting for him and he is such a great great loss. I miss him, and so many people who he has such a great impact on, miss him too.
Sure you want to keep your ‘relationship’ with Chet personal. But I suggest to you, I know more about Chet’s health challenges than you do!

This is the conventional wisdom of the oncologist that Chet decided to go with:
“There is no case that I can quote you where this has worked. And in all my years doing this, I have heard every kind of alternative you can think of (And she listed many) and none of them have worked. And worse, some of them have put a patient into great risk, damage their organs with some 'Alternative solution' or counteracted with the drugs I was giving them, or the cancer became so aggressive I couldn't properly treat it.”

Ignorance and since you mentioned it yourself – Criminal.
She doesn’t know because she is deluded. Do you honestly think that the many many people that write testimonials here at pH Miracle are all liars. If you do, then maybe a mental health checkup would be a grand place to start.
Ultimately, Chet turned down the offer to go to the pH Miracle retreat and have ‘conventional’ treatment instead. But this is what he wrote, for the FEW days he was on Robert Youngs advice:

So after about four days of this diet, I felt stoned. head was foggy, music sounded better, time seemed to slow down. Covers were breathing. Tess was feeling the same way too and we were taking about it so I knew it wasnt' just me and more important, I knew that it was related to the diet or she wouldn't be feeling the same thing. Turns out that when you go on this diet and your body starts to rid you of the acids , you go on a kind of acid trip.

With due respect to Chet then that is all I am going to write. What you are saying is insane.
Maybe you could write here, just like I asked in my first message, exactly what your philosophy and eating habits are. You have plenty to criticise Robert about, lets see you come clean on your own foundation of true health, balance and well-being?! But being able to take constructive criticism is not part of your makeup is it. Your photo reveals a lot to me!

If you intend responding, stop making yourself look like an ignorant fool, and bring something remotely intelligent to your discussion.

Leonard Coldwell? Really? Interesting person you’ve chosen to hold up as a paradigm of knowledge and virtue. Not to mention your claim that he’s a cancer expert. Not very discriminating are you? My standards are much higher than yours and frankly the man makes my skin crawl. You tell me to educate myself? Maybe you should take another look at Coldwell and educate yourself.

“2 independent studies in Germany proving it – Not Beverly Hills, that he has seen over 35,000 Cancer patients and has a success rate of 92.3% “

Do you have any PROOF of these studies? I imagine they are about as real as his 4 fake degrees. Heck the world famous cancer doctor isn’t even really named Leonard Coldwell. He was first Bernd Klein. Then he was Bernd Witchner. And now he is the not so German sounding Leonard Coldwell. Just ten years ago he was calling himself the “world’s greatest life coach”! Now he’s a CANCER expert?

He says he has a cure rate of 92.3%!? Maybe he does, since quacks aren’t bound by pesky details, like informed consent and professional integrity like medical doctors are. The quacks are free as birds to make any claim they want, just as long as they give it in conjunction with the ‘quack Miranda Warning’. AKA the disclaimer saying, “This advice isn’t meant to be a substitute for REAL medical treatment and you should consult your health care professional bla bla bla”.

Dr. James Wilson reviewed one of Coldwell’s books on Amazon. Dr. Wilson took the trouble to write to the different hospitals Coldwell claimed used his treatment techniques. Hint, they had never heard of him! Wilson writes:

“Coldwell's headline marketing boast is he has cured 35,000 people from cancer at a 92.3% success rate. We know this is false by using simple arithmetic. How many people does he cure every day? 20? Is he a 500-year old elf? And if his boast were true, he should be the doctor of the century and have his picture on the cover of every major publication. I would dare anyone to find any information about Coldwell or his self-reported success that does not come from his own advertising. He doesn’t even have a Wiki page!

Coldwell also claims his curing rate is legendary in Europe and he is known as the number one leading alternative doctor in the continent. He lists 6 German clinics that he recommends cancer patients go to because they use the techniques that he advocates. I decided to contact these German clinics and find out if they know Coldwell and if they use his techniques. These are supposedly the guys that are on his side. Three of them were kind enough to reply: Read their responses here: http://www.amazon.com/Only-Answer-Cancer-Leonard-Coldwell/product-reviews/0982442874/ref=cm_cr_pr_hist_1?ie=UTF8&filterBy=addOneStar&showViewpoints=0

In addition there is Coldwell’s association with Kevin Trudeau a convicted felon. Coldwell was partners with him in a Multi-level-marketing scheme (GIN).

They have since parted ways. The word is it’s due to
Coldwell’s “other activities”. Go here and read about Dr. Coldwell’s “Hands on Healing” i.e. POLICE REPORTS. In 2007 – after two women came into the police station complaining about suffering strikingly similar sexual abuse … Mt. Pleasant’s Detective Willis ] stated that Mr. Coldwell, the suspect, is claiming to be a doctor and told her that she had cancer. . . . During one of the sessions in which he was treating her he touched her breasts inappropriately and then placed his penis in her hand. He then warned her not to tell her husband.”
    http://saltydroid.info/dr-leonard-coldwells-handson-healing/

Wow! Coldwell can diagnose cancer just by LOOKING at you! His offer of 1 million to any doctor with a higher cure rate than he has? What a joke!! Don’t you see the ridiculous stupidity in your statement? No medical doctor has a cure rate higher than 92.3% and EITHER DOES Leonard!

You seem to think that all types of cancer are treated with chemotherapy. For instance surgery is still the most effective treatment for solid tumors. Some types of cancers respond very well to chemo. Like Hodgkin's lymphomas which have a cure rate in the 95% range. Today a child diagnosed with leukemia has an 87-90% chance of cure with chemo. Sixty years ago it was ZERO chance. Is there a ways to go? Absolutely there is. But now with the mapping of the human genome they are developing gene targeted drugs that are far more effective with much fewer side effects. Here are some very interesting articles from REAL scientists, with REAL science labs who are doing REAL research to advance medicine.

There are NO DIETS that may cure cancer. Diet can only help prevent cancer. Once the cancer is there diet cannot cure it. Anyone who preys on the desperate and scientifically illiterate cancer patient with the promise that diet will cure their cancer is a charlatan and a quack.

“On top of that, 30% of all patients that receive chemotherapy are dead in 30 days. If God forbid you were ever to get Cancer, I suggest you look for ‘alternatives'.”

Dead in 30 days?! And I’m sure you have a source for that little gem? Seriously, did you even think about what you were writing? I’ve had cancer (ovarian). I received conventional treatment, and I’m alive and healthy 12 years out with no recurrence.

“Pop out of your bubble in Beverly Hills and go travel the world – to Africa for example and take a look first hand at what ‘conventional’ treatments are doing to the world.”

You make an awful lot of assumptions about me. You have no idea where I’ve traveled. Yes take Africa indeed. A perfect example of human suffering when the population is LACKING in the advancements of modern medical care. You have it ass backwards. In places where modern medicine is unavailable you will find the highest morbidity and mortality rates across the board! Where there’s no access to antibiotics, surgical intervention, vaccinations, AIDS drugs, maternal care etc. etc. etc. you will find populations that have been ravaged. In places where modern health care is introduced the quality of life goes UP. And life expectancy goes UP!

“Just so you know, I have no affiliation with Robert Young whatsoever. I have never met him”

There are a number of things about your posts that make that very hard for me to believe!

“Let me ask you a simple question: Have you ever actually tried Robert Young’s philosophy or belief for yourself, or are you just another blogger who has plenty to say, yet hasn’t even tried eating, drinking, and living healthy as he suggests?”

I’ll answer your question. But why would I take health advice from someone who’s understanding of even basic human biology is so ridiculously wrong?

I’m not arguing against the idea that a healthy lifestyle and eating healthily are very important. I really don’t care if people want to adopt some unnecessarily, overly restrictive diet, based on a theory that’s NOT supported or backed by science, as long as it’s not dangerous.

Young’s arguing with and disagreeing with scientific principles that were settled more than a hundred years ago. Principles and theories that are no longer in debate (like pleomorphisim)! He just MAKES UP his OWN crap and arrogantly calls it ‘The New Biology'.

His ideas about disease are absurd. Such as, that type 1 diabetes is not an autoimmune disease that affects the pancreas. And that it’s instead a disease of the small intestine. I mean give me a break!! Frankly it’s insulting. Maybe not for the scientifically illiterate, but I have an advanced degree in the bio-sciences. Oh and incidentally I also happened to have raised a T 1 diabetic child from age 4 on, and I’m not buying his b.s.

To answer your previous question, no I haven’t gone on Young’s IMO unnecessarily restrictive diet. He cuts out whole food groups that ARE good for you and they taste good! I feel his diet is taken to an extreme to the point of being a gimmick.

I’m 5’ 7” 117lbs. I’ve never been overweight in my life. I’ve always been slightly underweight, especially as a child. I eat a mostly organic low fat, low carb, fruit and vegetable, wild seafood, organic chicken, no red meat. I drink ONLY (and A LOT!) of water. NO sodas, coffee or juice. Alcohol very seldom, maybe 1 glass of wine a month. I love to cook. And I consider myself an advanced cook.

For exercise I run 3-5 miles every day. And try to get to yoga class at least 2X’s a week. I studied ballet all my life and still try to take class whenever I can. My kids are grown, and thankfully I don’t have much stress in my life. I’ve been married to the same guy for ever and ever. Oh, and of course I don’t smoke or do drugs.
The only medications I take are extra high dose supplemental vitamins like D, beta carotene, B12, E, zinc. And synthroid. By the way I’m never sick. I honestly don’t remember the last time I even had a cold.

You claim what Young puts out is “rock solid”. By rock solid do you mean this?

All cancer is a liquid acid.

No one ever died from the flu.

Bacteria and viruses don’t cause disease. (this makes him a germ theory denialist)

All antibiotics all the time are bad! Hmm…… I wonder what he’d say to the doctors if one of his cute little grandchildren were lying in a ICU bed dying of massive sepsis from a ruptured appendix requiring antibiotics to SAVE their life. Would he forbid the doctors to give them antibiotics?

AIDS isn’t caused by the hiv virus (this makes him an AIDS denialist!).

    Viruses don’t cause disease.

Bacteria can magically turn into red blood cells and red blood cells can turn back into bacteria!

And the list of ridiculousness goes on and on.

It doesn’t seem to matter to him one single bit that these issues have long ago been settled in the scientific community. It doesn’t faze him in the least that virtually 99.9% of all doctors, scientists, and researchers are at complete odds with him and his archaic and warped theories on disease.

For instance the biochemistry, pathophysiology, and the cell biology of acid base balance in the human body is WELL understood down to and including the molecular level. A level Young has no clue about. The whole premise that you can alter your blood pH in any appreciable way by what you eat is a fairytale!

Here is a simple explanation for you. The fact is, the human body controls its acid/base balance quite effortlessly.

The respiratory system – excess acid dissolved in the bloodstream as carbonic acid is EXHALED as CO2 (carbon dioxide). If too much acid builds up (such as during exercise), our hearts pump faster and we breathe faster to increase the intake of oxygen and the release of carbon dioxide (thus raising blood pH).

Urinary system – the kidneys excrete excess H+ ions in the body, as well as regulating the water content by retaining or releasing sodium ions (salt). They also excrete excess protein and water as needed.

In general, all of the cells in your body are continually exchanging ions back and forth across the cell membranes to keep everything in balance. It is a beautifully designed system. NO MATTER how much alkaline food, water, and sodium bicarbonate you drink, your body will work to reverse what you are trying to do to it to maintain HOMEOSTASIS.

A blood pH below 6.8 (metabolic acidosis) or above 7.8 (alkalosis) can be FATAL. Just ask any diabetic about the risk of ketoacidosis.

You can keep trying to RAISE your blood pH to ALKALINE levels, but your body will be FIGHTING you all the way trying to maintain the proper NEUTRAL pH.

  13. To BJames,

“Whatever you may think about Live Blood analysis it isn’t rocket science to understand that blood that is acidic – i.e. STUCK TOGETHER doesn’t flow down a ‘single file’ capillary very well, nor the ability to carry oxygen and nutrients.”

It may not be rocket science but you sure don’t have a clue about it! There is something called the oxygen–hemoglobin dissociation curve. When the environment is more acidic the hemoglobin disassociates more readily delivering oxygen to the tissues MORE effectively.

Live blood analysis is a scam.
An excellent site to explain and debunk Young’s LBA b.s http://www.sciencebasedmedicine.org/index.php/live-blood-analysis-the-modern-auguries/

For instance, in one picture of a blood sample Young claims to see yeast: “Born out of RBCs due to blood pH Imbalance from latent tissue acidosis (isn’t it ALWAYS the acid?!); diet too high in protein, carbohydrates/ sugars; may be caused by excess antibiotic use, hormonal therapy, steroid use; fungal Infection”

Nope! Here’s what you are REALLY looking at. This is artifact, not yeasts. Yeasts can only be seen in people dying of overwhelming sepsis from profound neutropenia. Yeasts are not “born out of RBC’s.” More nonsense! It’s the same thing with bacteria. You CAN NOT see bacteria in a blood smear sample without culturing and staining them!

Don’t believe me? Ask ANY trained hospital microbiologist. They do this day in and day out, they can tell you what a scam LBA is. These people just MAKE STUFF UP that they say they are seeing. Kind of like reading tea leaves

I don’t share yours and Coldwell’s belief that the mind is the root of all disease. I think that’s a silly and naïve assumption. Many diseases are clearly genetic in origin. Furthermore in spite of Young’s denial that germs cause disease, (yeah pretty unbelievable) sometimes healthy people do get infected by a virus or bacteria and get sick.

I don’t think anyone would claim that a newborn caused their own cancer with negative thoughts. That’s not to say emotional stress can’t exacerbate one’s health. But to claim it’s the root cause of all, or even most disease is ignorant.

The role that the mind plays in someone’s healing has been closely studied. The fact is MOST EVERYONE wants to get better. Studies have shown that people with a more positive outlook don’t live any longer nor are they cured at a higher rate than people who give up. And the reduction of stress has shown to have only small effects on actual disease.

“Rather than attack someone on 2 ridiculous cases, maybe you should go and understand what ‘nutritional’ training your conventional ‘quacks’ receive.”

Two ridiculous cases? I don’t think their families think they are ridiculous. I sure don’t. Anyway, I asked my husband, daughter, and brother in law all M.D,’s how much nutrition training they had in medical school.

They all said nutrition was extensively taught. Not only in general terms but at the level required to maintain a patient’s nutrition who must be on hyperalimentation (very complicated patient management).

My daughter, who is a recently trained physician, says not only is nutrition taught in depth, it is now also taught at the molecular level!

The claim that doctors aren’t taught nutrition is just another often repeated myth by altie types. It’s simply not true. I also find it interesting that you refer to medical doctors, most of which who have had 15 years of higher education compared to Robert O Young’s extremely questionable credentials as, “my conventional quacks”.

You have plenty to say about having a healthy lifestyle. Which I DON’T disagree with! But unfortunately you have missed my point completely.

I’m not against a healthy diet! I’m against quacks like Young who prey on desperate, gullible, vulnerable cancer patients by telling them to STOP their conventional cancer treatments. And to put their faith in his Miracle pH Diet to cure them! This is dangerous and wrong IMO.

  14. To BJames,

“Lets move onto Chet Holmes. Whom, let me say I absolutely Love, and his situation and pain did bring me to tears. I was batting for him and he is such a great great loss. I miss him, and so many people who he has such a great impact on, miss him too. Sure you want to keep your ‘relationship’ with Chet personal. But I suggest to you, I know more about Chet’s health challenges than you do!”

All of your love for Chet Holmes aside, you can suggest whatever you want. You can even cut and paste some of Chet’s posts from his Caringbridge blog.

Let me just tell you MY knowledge of the matter is in far more depth than some blog he shared with a few thousand of his closest friends.

The remarks by his oncologist were honest and spot on. They also turned out to be prophetically true. How dare you refer to her as deluded. Your comments about her are outrageous!

This oncologist has had years of education from respected, accredited, i.e. REAL institutions of higher learning. Her credentials weren’t bought and paid for from some long distance, unaccredited, now defunct school. She earned her credentials by working long and hard. This physician has years of experience taking care of critically ill patients at a world class teaching hospital.

You reveal “where you are coming from” when you write:
“Do you honestly think that the many many people that write testimonials HERE at pH Miracle are all liars?”

Obviously you either believe in this nonsense (cancer can be cured with an alkaline diet) and in that case need to get an education. Or, you are intimately involved in this in some way and are profiting from it.

Chet continued on his alternative medicine path for many months, NOT just a few days. As his oncologist warned him would happen his blast (WBC) count would climb to astronomically high levels, turning his blood to ‘sludge’ and causing him to suffer a stroke!

Undaunted, he still wanted to stay the course with alternative treatment. Finally, after many months with no improvement, and his condition only worsening, he finally agreed to the treatment the oncologists recommended in the beginning.

Yes, Chet did finally give up on Young’s treatment. But please don’t try to tell me he only tried it for a FEW days! The time Chet wasted on the ‘alkaline treatment’ to cure his leukemia is well documented by Chet in his blog. Don’t bother trying to change the facts. Details like that are out there for anyone to read. Unlike the Kim Tinkham YouTube videos, those can’t be removed by Robert O Young.

If Chet had gotten treatment sooner, months BEFORE the cancer had a chance to mutate and become more difficult to treat, could Chet have survived?

All I can say is Chet had a terrible diagnosis. With bi-phenotypic ALL-AML Philadelphia positive chromosome cancer his chances WITH chemo and transplant were poor.

But without it they were zero.

Unlike the quacks that swooped in promising Chet a 100% chance of being cured with their diets and quack treatments, the oncologists were honest and up front with Chet from the very beginning about his poor prognosis.

Leukemia cannot be cured by drinking green smoothies and eating spices and herbs. Cancer is a formidable opponent.

  15. To BJames,

“Do you honestly think that the many many people that write testimonials here at pH Miracle are all liars. If you do, then maybe a mental health checkup would be a grand place to start.”

Hmm? “that write testimonials HERE at pH Miracle are all liars”? ‘HERE’ as in where YOU are?

Not connected to Young in any way?

And NO! Just because I don’t unquestioningly believe testimonials that are placed on the Internet to sell something, doesn’t mean I need a mental health checkup. In fact, if I WERE to blindly accept as truth and fact every testimonial I saw on Young’s or anyone else’s site, that would make me a very naïve, credulous, and gullible person who WAS in need of a mental health checkup,

Testimonials are anecdotal. They are the most unreliable of all evidence. Young regularly puts up testimonials of people who claim they are being or have been cured with his diet. If you look and listen closely to what the people are saying in their testimonials, most have also had conventional medical treatment too. Conventional treatment that in and of its self can be curative! Another problem is some of these people are claiming to be cured when its only been months since they were diagnosed! You would have no way of knowing if you were really cured or if the cancer were going to return.

Young has a video up of a little girl who had non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. She explains that before she started Young’s DIET she had radiation and chemotherapy.

This young girl has a 90-95% cure rate with this treatment!
    http://cancerhelp.cancerresearchuk.org/type/non-hodgkins-lymphoma/treatment/statistics-and-outlook-for-non-hodgkins-lymphoma

Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma happens to be one of the more successfully treatable cancers. Yet, Young gives the impression that it’s the pH Miracle diet that’s curing this young girl. This is absolutely deceptive, and if you can’t see that then you are either deluded and in denial, or in on the deception.

Young is still running a testimonial about a doctor who’s supposedly reversing her pancreatic cancer. She’s been DEAD for over a year from her pancreatic cancer. Doesn’t get more deceptive than that.

Then there’s the Kim Tinkham testimonials that have long disappeared. Why? The number of reasons why anecdotes/testimonials are unreliable are too many to list here. They range all the way from the person never having had cancer or the disease to begin with, to instances where people were paid to lie.

I have no problem taking constructive criticism. I just haven’t seen any from you. I’ve only seen vitriol like this:
“If you intend responding, stop making yourself look like an ignorant fool, and bring something remotely intelligent to your discussion.”

I don’t disagree that a healthy diet and lifestyle are important. My problem with Young and other charlatans like him is when they use pseudoscience to make claims that they can cure serious disease. And then if that weren’t bad enough, they go even farther by telling the person to completely abandon conventional medicine that’s been PROVEN to work at least most of the time.

Even if the person’s situation is terminal, and nothing more than palliative care can be offered, they can still be taken advantage of financially. Quacks don’t care. They will keep making the promises until the person’s wallet is empty or they are dead.

I’m not sure what you meant by the picture comment. Are you implying I’m hiding something to avoid criticism? I’m not hiding anything LOL. Where’s your picture? What are YOU avoiding? Are you afraid I might recognize the author of your posts? By the way, there can be security issues for not wanting to have ones picture plastered all over the net.

You are the one showing ignorance. Please provide me scientific proof of even ONE of the many claims Young has made. You can start with the ridiculous claim that all cancer is not a cell but a liquid acid!

Did you notice the “pH”d? Food for thought Claire… Or fluid… Or lifestyle. Sounds like a good pHilosophy to me!

I have to be completely honest with you. I did find some of the things you said more than a little amusing. I had a chuckle. Not at those people that run with your advice, or believe in the madness of what you express with dubious pride, but in the absolute insanity of what you are saying.

Firstly I will give you some rather funny, yet sage advice.
If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.

From what you have written, I suggest you grasp this concept first and then move downstream from there.

As Jerry Macguire said “SHOW MEEEE THE MONEYYYYYYYYYY”!!!!!!!
Whenever in doubt, follow the money trail.

Cancer Industry is worth $200 Billion+ per year and the Global pharmaceutical industry revenue is the $880 Billion+. Say no more.
“With a monopoly on virtually all cancer treatments, conventional cancer treatments allow the Medical Establishment to earn obscene profits. So don’t expect any cures to come from the cancer industry because it would kill the ‘golden goose’ that cancer has become”
Often I hear narrow mindedness towards ”alternative” approaches to health and well-being and it seems to always reminds me of Jack Nicholson in A Few Good Men –
Judge: You don't have to answer that question!
Jessup: I'll answer the question. You want answers?
    Kaffee: I think I'm entitled.
    Jessup: You want answers?!
    Kaffee: I want the truth!
Jessup: You can't handle the truth!

    Can you Claire?

You wrote “Even if the person’s situation is terminal, and nothing more than palliative care can be offered, they can still be taken advantage of financially. Quacks don’t care. They will keep making the promises until the person’s wallet is empty or they are dead”

That is ridiculous. RI DIC U LOUS! Do you have any idea whatsoever how much it costs the average cancer care patient? Any idea? Obviously Bio-science didn’t include research nor mathematics.

Compared to let’s say – Green drink, salts, ph drops, juicer, udo’s oil, water ionizer or purifier, colloidals, organic vegetables, nuts seeds… Are you mad? ARE YOU INSANE? My feet are firmly planted on planet earth but I need to check which planet you are messaging me from?!?!

Go read the New York Times – Questioning a $30,000-a-Month Cancer Drug! It isn’t a typo, that is 30,000 DOLLARS A MONTH. A MONTH?!?! The drug is called Folotyn. The colon cancer drug Erbitux, for instance, costs $10,000 a month! The drug Avastin about $8,800 when used to treat lung cancer! Genzyme’s Clolar for pediatric leukemia costs about $34,000 a week, though the company says that only two weeks of treatment are typically needed! Genzyme’s drug Campath, for chronic lymphocytic leukemia, costs about $5,000 a week for several weeks! GlaxoSmithKline is charging up to $98,000 for a six-month treatment course of Arzerra, a drug approved in late October for chronic lymphocytic leukemia!
“Folotyn has not yet shown an effect on longevity. In the clinical trial that led to approval of the drug, 27 percent of the 109 patients experienced a reduction in tumor size. The reductions lasted a median of 9.4 months.
But considering all the patients in the trial, only 12 percent had a reduction in tumor size that lasted for more than 14 weeks. The trial did not compare Folotyn to another drug or a placebo”!!!
“….patients and the health system cannot afford to pay huge prices for drugs that, on average, provide only a few extra months of life at best” NY Times.

Shame they didn’t also mention the side effects and true cost to the impaired quality of life.

Quite frankly I think you should apologise! Your comment are disgusting, unfounded, and ludicrous. People who believe the rubbish that comes out of your mouth with reckless abandon, have to pay these costs because they know no better but to believe in someone who they sincerely trust and believe in – Their doctor. Your comments are a complete and absolute joke. Go tell your oncologist friend too. EVEN BETTER name her here so I can shame her too?!

Let’s take a walk down the wild side of the blatant corruptive practices and the killing of innocent people, which has become a natural evolution of traditional and conventional medicine. A few facts and quotes will support my views and shake the very foundations your flaky opinions are based on. Not that I am suggesting you have any foundation at all when it comes to your Narcissism.

    – Prescription drugs kill over 200,000 Americans every year

    – According to the CDC, approximately three quarters of a million people each year are rushed to emergency rooms in the United States because of adverse reactions to prescription drugs.

    – The Food and Drug Administration reported 1,742 prescription drug recalls in 2009, which was a gigantic increase from 426 drug recalls in 2008

    – Nearly half of all Americans now use prescription drugs on a regular basis according to a CDC report

    – A 2006 follow-up to the IOM study found that medication errors are among the most common medical mistakes, harming at least 1.5 million people every year. According to the study, 400,000 preventable drug-related injuries occur each year in hospitals, 800,000 in long-term care settings, and roughly 530,000 among Medicare recipients in outpatient clinics. The report stated that these are likely to be conservative estimates.

  18. You cannot ignore the fact that you do live in the United States. The drugged up nation of the world –
    – Americans take more prescription drugs than anyone else on the planet
    – The percentage of women taking antidepressants in America is higher than in any other country in the world.
    – More people have been diagnosed with mental disorders in America than anywhere else on earth. Currently there is 374+ so called ‘mental disorders’…
    – Of all the major industrialized nations, America is the fattest! Back in 1962, only 13 percent of all Americans were obese. Today, approximately 36 percent of all Americans are obese
When it comes to health, your country has become the laughing stock of the world, and you want me to believe you that conventional medicine is free from fraud and corruption?!?! Give me a break. Having your head buried in the sand has never helped anyone.
So – the CDC states on record, that in the US 1 in every 2 people – around 150 Million, are on prescription drugs. 1742 prescription drugs recalled in 2009, up 300% on 2008 – go check it out, it is a fact. Medical errors harming AT LEAST 1.5 million Americans every year – conservative estimates that is, prescription drugs killing 200,000+ Americans every year….
To put that into a shocking perspective for you – In just a few years, Prescription Drugs kill more people than the total COMBINED military losses in the history of the United States! In the HISTORY of the United States!
Yet you hop on a pedestal to be the spokeswoman on these blogs to hail the almighty medical establishment based on fraud corruption and abusive manipulative practices. Word of advice – Channel your energies somewhere else Claire, because if you want to leave a legacy, you are in the wrong field of work.
To clarify the previous point I made, regarding you only managing to reference two of the people that Robert has offered advice to, as “ridiculous” was by reference, NOT by ‘nature of’. You have this ongoing diatribe drivel about only these two cases which you clearly pick and choose the facts you wish to broadcast. Go and help the millions of people that are getting murdered and stop being a stupendous fool – Along with your oncologist friend!
And FYI, I don’t have any affiliation to/with Robert Young, in any shape of form. I don’t live in America and I have no interest whatsoever, even if you paid me. I mentioned “here at ph miracle’ because this communication started at his website where the Articles of Health are. So no need to get all hysterical about any connection you think I have to Robert. I have a clear conscience and moral compass, and the reason why I took the time and effort to respond to you, was not because any of what you say I take personally, nor even impacts me – I am in pristine health, but because the truth needs to be told to those that are not.
As one of Americas founding fathers Benjamin Franklin said – God heals, and the doctor takes the fee.
Having listened to the entirety of what you have documented on a couple of occasions now, it is my fervent belief that you would be well versed to reach out beyond the channelled and modular thinking of an “advanced degree in bio-sciences” and study the very nature of life itself. In the real world and not from ‘privatised education’. Don your pseudoscience cap, and immerse yourself across the vast fields of Economics, Politics, History, War, Cultures and Civilisations, Environment, Psychology, Agriculture etc etc etc… It will paint a vivid picture and give you a much greater level of wisdom and understanding from which to draw your conclusions from.

  19. This is how ‘I’ spend my days, nights, weeks, months and years, but unfortunately I only have limited time to educate you on subjects that you seem to have channelled into a microcosm of thoughts and beliefs that much of which I not only disagree with, but of which is satirical. The core of your ‘logic’ as you wish to believe and portray, just doesn’t add up. Much of what you say is contradictory, and if you break down your fundamental decisions on how you individually decide to live, (waive your theoretical assumptions, and switch off your emotional flatulence for just a second) then there are huge parallels with how Robert suggests to live. You are trying to split hairs and argue about such trivial things, when the essence of what you are saying is that there is No way – known, understood, practiced, listened to from millions of people over the course of history who have overcome every disease imaginable without medical intervention, or educated – by YOU, to recover from disease, outside of poison (drugs), cut and burn. On one side of the discussion or argument you are quite happy to ride on the band wagon of prevention is better than cure (which I agree with) by saying things like “I’m not arguing against the idea that a healthy lifestyle and eating healthily are very important” and in the same breath, say that conventional medical treatment is the only way to recover from disease. Well you are clearly and blatantly wrong in how you have expressed yourself. Having said that, I sincerely believe that surely your intelligence supersedes your ability to convey a message such as what you are propounding. It is preposterous at so many levels. Well beyond the framework of health.

I did take 5 mins to take a look at the the drug you are taking for hypothyroidism.
The synthroid official website does not let you copy and paste from the pdf document by the way, Surprise surprise. Here is the list and a clear definition of the medical industry you believe and follow so verdantly when it comes to health recovery. Adverse Reactions, and I quote from the site verbatim:

General – fatigue, increased appetite, weight loss, heat intolerance, fever, excessive sweating
Central Nervous System – Headache, hyperactivity, nervousness, anxiety, irritability, EMOTIONAL LIABILITY, insomnia,
    Musculoskeletal – tremors, muscle weakness
Cardiovascular – Palpitations, tachycardia, arrhythmias, increased pulse and blood pressure, heart failure angina, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest
    Respiratory – dyspnea
Gastrointestinal – diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal cramps and elevation in liver function tests
    Dermatologic – hair loss, flushing
Endocrine – decreased bone mineral density
Reproductive – menstrual irregularities, impaired fertility
I love how they list all the side effects and then “Other unusual medical events” follows it. Would most definitely fill me with confidence to run out and buy the drug! And also the “Partial hair loss may occur rarely during the first few months of Synthroid therapy, but this is usually temporary.” Usually temporary…. Hmmmmm.
Snakeoil salesmen and woman. You bet! Makes a lot of sense to a lot of people (although ignorance is bliss as highlighted by yourself) to search for alternatives that don’t have a plethora of side effects.

Welcome to the world of the medical hypocrisy. Trust your doctor Claire?!?! He/she has your best interests at heart?!?!? You can’t be serious!
No doubt you are old enough to remember the famous advert in 1946, which so famously asserted that “more doctors smoke Camels than any other cigarette”.
In my vast experiences, most doctors I have come across are some of the most unhealthy individuals I have ever met. Yet you are trying to convince the masses about how much ‘nutritional’ training they receive. Maybe if you label a drug as ‘nutrition’ you may well be right. Most doctors don’t understand nutrition if it was delivered to them on a plate. Literally!

    Like

  20. If indeed there is an ounce of truth in what you forwarded regarded the traditionalists you know that receive nutritional training, then it isn’t passed onto the patient. Just ask any person that walks out of the doctor’s office. Try it. Let me know your “scientific” findings. Nothing ‘anecdotal’ about that. It is a Yes, or No answer.
But when you think about it Claire, if you believe that diet as Robert Young suggests, cannot help cure any disease then why would you advise or prescribe nutrition? Because most people that go and see a doctor aren’t just passing time. They generally most often have a health challenge. Another contradiction in your selective beliefs and irregular thinking patterns.
Be honest, don’t make things up – When have you heard a conventional doctor say to their patient – You can either take these drugs and here is the FULL list of all the side effects, (often a slow kill) or you can eat steamed vegetables and salads, drink plenty of water, stop smoking, stop drinking excessively, stop eating crap, stop watching 4-7hrs of TV a day like the average American, lose weight by doing XYZ because you are obese, do some physical exercise, have some down time and plenty of relaxation, sleep well and at a good hour etc etc ….. Next to none is my guess. Because even if they do learn nutrition, they don’t actually understand what it means with regard to its use in true health and well being. Nor often live the principal.

Here are a few quotes of enlightenment compiled by Dr. Ronald Steriti, NMD, PhD

Leave your drugs in the chemist’s pot if you can cure the patient with food.
    – Hippocrates, 420 BC
A doctor would promise life to a corpse if it could swallow the pills.
    – Napoleon
One of the first duties of the physician is to educate the masses not to take medicine.
    – William Osler
Doctors cut, burn, and torture the sick, then demand of them an undeserved fee for such
    services.
    – Heraclitus, 500 BC (Sounds familiar doesn’t it. 2512 years ago. Ahead of his time!)
Oh, the powers of Nature! She knows what we need, and the doctors know nothing.
    – Benvenuto Cellini, 1860
It is more important to know what kind of patient has the disease than what kind of disease
    the patient has.
    – Sir William Osler (Profound!)
Most diseases are the result of medication which has been prescribed to relieve and take
away a beneficient and warning symptom on the part of Nature.
    – Elbert Hubbard
To do nothing is sometimes a good remedy.
    – Hippocrates, 400 BC
Every human being is the author of his own health or disease.

In my view, wise and sage words.

Deepak Chopra aptly quotes some of what I have expressed, quite profoundly:
    – “All doctors – or mostly all doctors – are legalized pill pushers, unfortunately”.
    – “That most of the surgery they do is totally useless. For example, in the U.S., we do up to $300 billion of surgery, which, you know, is so common. Coronary artery bypass graft, angioplasty – except for those patients with un-stabilized angina, in the vast majority of people, it increases lifespan by one percent – the life expectancy”
    – “It's the culture. It's not just America, it's the world. They've been hypnotized into believing in the system that doesn't work. And, you know, there's more suffering – and I'm being really honest and truthful about this – especially at the end of life – nobody dies peacefully at home anymore. They end up in an ICU. You see, when you've got misaligned interests – here's where the misaligned interests are. Doctors want to make money. That's the way it is. You know, it's like if you go to a baker, what's he going to sell you? Bread. You go to a surgeon, he'll sell you surgery. Period”
    – “Now, it's true that if you're naturally in a state of peace, equanimity, joy, love, compassion – your biology will be very different and very self-repairing. So what we call self-repair in biology, we use the word homeostasis. It is a function of your state of consciousness.”

You may take a swipe at Robert’s credentials. – Which I disagree with. However it will be a little harder to attack Deepak’s credentials. Basically he disputes most of your convictions in a single breath. What does Chet’s Onco have to say regarding Deepak? Get her to start posting here too.

“Some researchers found out the truth about conventional cancer therapy, and they reported on it. Dr. Hardin B Jones, professor at University of California, conducted a 25 year study that examined the life expectancy of people with cancer and concluded that untreated cancer patients didn’t die sooner than patients who received surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. He actually found that patients who refused conventional cancer treatments actually lived about FOUR TIMES LONGER than those who took them! These findings have never been refuted to date, and his findings have actually been verified by other researchers”

I agree with Chet Holmes when he said – quoted with spelling errors fixed “That the medical profession is outside his loop is a contribution of the pharmaceutical companies. They control the medical profession with billions of dollars to make sure that guys like me need Six figures in medicines. If you were a $9 billion pharmaceutical company would you want the world to know that cancer can be cured by eating the proper diet? So they control and only grant studies and college studies that do NOT prove these things”!

Chet was an inspiration and incredible business mind. He knows what makes most people’s worlds go round. M.O.N.E.Y!

And I am not even going to go into the drugs prescribed to Chet which he took and all the crazy and adverse side effects they have. You don’t mention any of this. You just point the finger at a man who was prescribing healthy and hearty broccoli soup, plenty of water, green drink, pH drops and healthy organic foods, to aid his body to eliminate the waste (from what some people friends who knew him would have considered – a very unhealthy lifestyle / living over a long period of time) and to give his body the best opportunity to heal and recover. Chet had Colon Cancer 14 years prior to Robert Youngs advices, (during a very small window in which Chet took many many conflicting advices from a lot of people at the same time whilst listening to Robert and taking the oral drugs Gleevac and Hydroxyurea )
Like most cancers that are treated by your conventional MD’s, they nearly always come back. In the same sharp or different form. Course it does unless you treat the underlying PROBLEM. Dosent take a brain surgeon to figure that out. But I am sure you would rather opt for the drugs or the surgeon!

Not that you would understand, nor have the ability to comprehend – but an unhealthy Colon is the red flag of serious health problems based on compromised eating, drinking or thinking. (LIFEstyle)

  22. To cut to the chase in your responses, let me quote your key points you raised and satirical beliefs on health.

“There are NO DIETS that may cure cancer. Diet can only help prevent cancer. Once the cancer is there diet cannot cure it”
A regurgitation of what your oncologist friend told Chet Holmes. Absolute delusion and stupendous ignorance of the highest order and pure unadulterated arrogance. There is no science in what you have just said. Nada, Zip, Zero, Zilch!

That is why most people I speak to that have had ‘conventional treatment’ for Cancer , don’t change their diets, drinking habits, or lifestyle – Because they sincerely listen to and believe the rubbish that you suggest. Looking for the ‘magic pill’. But that is what the great America has become hasn’t it. Walk out your door, there is plenty of that in Beverly Hills. Open your eyes. You must be having a laugh Claire. You used the word Charlatan! Yes you are, indeed.
Have you heard of ownership, have you heard of accountability, have you heard of taking any responsibility for your health – irrelevant of whether it is before or after a diagnosis. Ultimately you are saying that it is completely irrelevant what you eat, drink, or how you live, because it will have no effect on the cancer recovery, what so ever! I never respond to these absurd views, but I wanted to tell people the other side of the coin, because you are dead wrong! People must read your words and think you are crazy. It is amusing to me because I just keep thinking that you just cant be for real!
A Dr. Maurice Fox, an MIT biologist, found that cancer patients that refused conventional cancer therapy had lower mortality rates than those who accepted it. Dr. Ulrich Abel, a highly-respected German epidemiologist from the Tumor Clinic of the University of Heidelberg, conducted an extensive review of the research that had been done on chemotherapy drugs. In his paper entitled Chemotherapy of Advanced Epithelial Cancer (which was published in the prestigious medical journal, The Lancet) found that there was NO scientific evidence to demonstrate that chemotherapy could extend the lives of cancer patients with the most common cancers. He actually said that chemotherapy is a “scientific wasteland” and that neither physician or patients were willing to give it up even though there is NO scientific evidence that it works. He says that 80% of chemotherapy that is given is totally worthless.
“Young’s arguing with and disagreeing with scientific principles that were settled more than a hundred years ago. Principles and theories that are no longer in debate (like pleomorphisim)!”
What is wrong with debate? If we didn’t debate anything the earth would still be flat, wouldn’t it? Actually let me give you a history lesson on that. And you or others here may be able to draw the logical dots across what forms the basis of your’ ideology on disease recovery and Dr Robert Youngs new biology.
Aristotle (about 350BC) noted the shape of the earth by observing its shadow on the face of the moon during a lunar eclipse. But the Christian church (just like you and your oncologist friend) held firm in its belief that the earth was flat. Not only did they hold that it was flat, they judged as criminal all who held a different view. Almost 1500 years after Aristotle, they jailed Roger Bacon (1214-1294) for 10 years for his views about the spherical earth. Along came Isaac Newton (1643-1727) who provided the mathematical mechanism and physical reasoning to put the last nail in the flat earth coffin. Only the very ignorant or the very stupid believed a flat earth after Newton's work.

  23. Hmmmmmm so your solution as you quoted was injecting antibiotics, drugs and vaccinations, and surgical intervention? No mention of Malnutrition? Clean drinking water? Sanitation? I understand that it is very easy to give advice Claire when you live a lifestyle which I will quote from you “I eat a mostly organic low fat, low carb, fruit and vegetable, wild seafood, organic chicken, no red meat. I drink ONLY (and A LOT!) of water” If anything, I suggest you reflect on your beliefs and the way in which you express yourself so vehemently , and empathise what life is really like for our brothers and sisters in Africa and beyond.
If you were much more open minded and had a deeper level of love, compassion and true understanding, then maybe, just maybe, the light would shine on you to illuminate an inner wisdom and an inspiring pathway towards a freedom in your advice to those that are suffer from debilitating disease. I suggest you are an insult to theirs and my own intelligence.

“For instance surgery is still the most effective treatment for solid tumors”
Once you surgically remove a tumor. You no longer have a tumor. Just in the same way, when you remove your breast/s, you no longer have breast cancer. Or remove the testicles; you no longer have testicular cancer. It is a narrow minded symptomatic approach. Not root cause analysis and recovery as Robert Young suggests.

“Studies have shown that people with a more positive outlook don’t live any longer nor are they cured at a higher rate than people who give up. And the reduction of stress has shown to have only small effects on actual disease”

Sir Peter Medawar, the great British scientist and Nobel prizewinner in immunology, was once asked what the best prescription for success against cancer might be. 'A sanguine personality,' he replied.
One of the gurus of this field of psychoneuroimmunology (PNI) is US psychologist Lydia Temoshok, who has identified a set of personality traits that, she claims, predisposes people to cancer. The two main ones are difficulty in expressing emotions, and a tendency towards helplessness/hopelessness.
Someone who has taken this concept even further is German cancer surgeon Dr Ryke-Geerd Hamer. He has studied over 20,000 cancer patients, and found that the vast majority of them had experienced some kind of unresolved emotional conflict just before getting the cancer. Hamer has now largely abandoned surgery in favour of psychotherapy, and claims to have successfully brought about dramatic turn-arounds in his cancer patients.
The University of Michigan’s Comprehensive Cancer Center published an analysis in 2009, that revealed popular cancer studies to be false. Unsurprisingly the primary cause of fabricated results was determined to be conflicts of interest that created results that work out best for drug companies rather than for the people.
100 Amgen scientists were astonished to find that they were able to replicate the results of only 6 of 53 widely cited landmark cancer research papers. A report in NATURE, by Glenn Begley (former head of cancer research at Amgen) and Lee Ellis (surgical oncologist at MD Anderson), Drug development: Raise standards for preclinical cancer research describes the effort of 100 Amgen scientists to replicate the results claimed by the authors of 53 widely cited landmark cancer research papers. Some authors required the Amgen scientists sign a confidentiality agreement barring them from disclosing data at odds with the original findings. “The world will never know” which 47 studies

  24. — many of them highly cited — are apparently wrong, Begley said. Such a legal shield protects fraud and fraudsters.
According to the International Agency for Research in Cancer “…80-90 per cent of human cancer is determined environmentally and thus theoretically avoidable.” (5) Environmental causes of cancer include lifestyle factors such as smoking, a diet high in animal products and low in fresh fruit & vegetables, excessive exposure to sunlight, food additives, alcohol, workplace hazards, pollution, electromagnetic radiation, and even certain pharmaceutical drugs and medical procedures.
And despite the recognition that the majority of environmental causes are linked to nutrition, less than 1 per cent of the National Cancer Institute budget is devoted to nutrition studies. And even that small amount had to be forced on the Institute by a special amendment of the National Cancer Act in 1974.”
Consider the 1981 Congressional Testimony by Dr. Irwin Bross, former director of the Sloan-Kettering, the largest cancer research institute in the world, and then Director of Biostatistics at Roswell Park Memorial Institute for Cancer Research, Bufallo, NY: “The uselessness of most of the animal model studies is less well known. For example, the discovery of chemotherapeutic agents for the treatment of human cancer is widely-heralded as a triumph due to use of animal model systems. However, here again, these exaggerated claims are coming from or are endorsed by the same people who get the federal dollars for animal research. There is little, if any, factual evidence that would support these claims. Indeed, while conflicting animal results have often delayed and hampered advances in the war on cancer, they have never produced a single substantial advance either in the prevention or treatment of human cancer. For instance, practically all of the chemotherapeutic agents which are of value in the treatment of human cancer were found in a clinical context rather than in animal studies.”
“My overall assessment is that the national cancer programme must be judged a qualified failure” Dr. John Bailer, who spent 20 years on the staff of the U.S. National Cancer Institute and was editor of its journal. Dr. Bailer also says: “The five year survival statistics of the American Cancer Society are very misleading. They now count things that are not cancer, and, because we are able to diagnose at an earlier stage of the disease, patients falsely appear to live longer. Our whole cancer research in the past 20 years has been a total failure. More people over 30 are dying from cancer than ever before . . . More women with mild or benign diseases are being included in statistics and reported as being 'cured'. When government officials point to survival figures and say they are winning the war against cancer they are using those survival rates improperly.”
Rather than spending all your time defending the insane fallacy of ‘conventional’ delusion, you should actually lose the attitude of perpetual salutation to the powers of Big Pharma and spend time researching the truths away from cut, poison, burn.
If you never change Claire then I feel incredibly sorry for those that come across you/your cohorts, and are foolish enough to listen to your tunnel vision of madness. But I write this more in the hope that others who suffer from serious disease actually take the responsibility to listen to the visionaries that haven’t been warped by delusional theories from one Louis Pasteur, dating back to the 1800’s. This is the 21st century and with it comes a New Biology of Health, Happiness and Well-Being.

    YOU CANT HANDLE THE TRUTH!

Maybe you should also see if you can find a drug treatment for your ‘hypo-memory’ condition?! Most of your previous comments were filled with personal insults towards others.

Your knowledge and debunked theories based on credentials from a privatised institution of Big Pharma, are not so 'sweet' after all. Are they Claire? And btw get your Oncologist friend to expose herself so we can make this fair game! Easy to take a swipe at Robert, well let me take a swipe at her and let’s see if she has the guts to come forward with all the papers/proof of her success rates with cancer, and then I will table mine in due course!! Let’s have YOU put your MONEY where your mouth is. And it’s seems to me and I suggest anyone that reads this, it is a big one at that!

I can be honest and say that when I originally saw your photo, this discussion has taken the path that I expected. You can do all the ballet, theoretical somersaults and yoga in the world, but pictures don’t lie.

I suggest you take your unjustified, insensible and pathetically maladroit discussion elsewhere. To a place where people are dumbed down enough to actually believe in your farcical convictions. Shouldn’t be too hard to find them in Hollywood.
As I mentioned to you, there are 374+ Mental Disorders defined by the industry you love and believe in. Along with your Radioactive and Surgical fondness.
A form of pharmaceutical fanaticism that I am sure you could find a place to perch and consume, the same way many people in this world that are getting slowly killed by them do. But its much much easier to eat Wild fish, Organic veges and Clean drinking water, and tell Africans that they need medicine care to fix ALL their problems. I have heard some dumb things in all these years, but that takes first prize!
No one should tolerate the b.s that you continue to drivel out nonchalantly! I don’t and wont!

Claiming that you win an argument has no relationship to how effective your argument is. The very fact you predicted my opinion by looking at my picture shows how hopelessly deluded you are.

Robert O Young is perpetrating a dangerous fraud on the public by claiming he can cure their cancer and the authorities should be made aware of what he is doing.

    You posted this quote:

“All of the diseases of civilization are due to improper functioning of the colon.” Dr. Harvey Kellogg, M.D. of the Kellogg”

Ah yes the wonderful Dr. Kellogg! “Kellogg worked on the rehabilitation of masturbators, often employing extreme measures, even mutilation, on both sexes. He was an advocate of circumcising young boys to curb masturbation and applying phenol (carbolic acid) to a young woman's clitoris. In his Plain Facts for Old and Young,[7] he wrote:
“ A remedy which is almost always successful in small boys is circumcision, especially when there is any degree of phimosis. The operation should be performed by a surgeon without administering an anesthetic, as the brief pain attending the operation will have a salutary effect upon the mind, especially if it be connected with the idea of punishment, as it may well be in some cases. The soreness which continues for several weeks interrupts the practice, and if it had not previously become too firmly fixed, it may be forgotten and not resumed. ”

    further
“ a method of treatment [to prevent masturbation] … and we have employed it with entire satisfaction. It consists in the application of one or more silver sutures in such a way as to prevent erection. The prepuce, or foreskin, is drawn forward over the glans, and the needle to which the wire is attached is passed through from one side to the other. After drawing the wire through, the ends are twisted together, and cut off close. It is now impossible for an erection to occur, and the slight irritation thus produced acts as a most powerful means of overcoming the disposition to resort to the practice”http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/19924

Now that's someone I want to be quoting. Not! And don't even get me started on his ideas about separating the races, even though he had adopted some black children. Maybe he used them as help.

She apologized to me in her email for leaving the pH Miracle Lifestyle and thanked me for keeping her alive for over 5 years. 31. OH, look who jumped in here just to repeat the same old lie.
Robert, how can you say “I kept her alive for MORE THAN FIVE years”? Kim was diagnosed in Feb, 2007 and died the very beginning of Dec. 2010. Third grade math skills tell you that is 3 years 11 months. In other words she didn’t HAVE breast cancer for FIVE years.

I really doubt she sent you an email only SEVEN DAYS before she died thanking you for keeping her alive for OVER FIVE YEARS. If such an email does exist you’d be posting it here and in other places in your own defense. If and it’s a pretty BIG if, she did contact you, it would have only been to ask you why you told her she was cancer free, when she most certainly was not

Your claim that her liver cancer had nothing to do with her breast cancer is preposterous! Why would an otherwise healthy young woman get liver cancer? She wasn't an alcoholic or hep C positive. Nor did she have any other conditions that would explain it, except she DID have UNTREATED breast cancer. And breast cancer when left UNTREATED often spreads to the liver. Sadly that’s exactly what happened to Kim. She died of metastatic breast cancer.

As for my comments causing her family pain. I would just say that the only pain Kim’s family feels other than the awful loss of their beloved mother, sister, daughter, wife, and friend comes from knowing that had she gotten proper medical treatment she most likely could have survived.

Half of what you say about Chet Holmes is true. Chet did make the same mistake Steve Jobs made. Like Jobs, Chet also delayed for nearly a year the treatment that his doctors recommended.

Steve Jobs had a very rare kind of pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor. Unlike the more common and very deadly pancreatic cancer, the kind Jobs had has a fairly high cure rate provided it's caught early and removed surgically. Jobs decided to try alternative treatments first. By delaying treatment for 8 months he allowed the tumor to grow and metastasize.
This is all well documented in his authorized biography. In it Jobs is remorseful for delaying his treatment, and wishful that he had listened to his doctors initial advice.

Chet Holmes also tried all kinds of 'woo' before he would finally agree to chemo and transplant. When you delay treatment you allow the cancer to metastasize and mutate making it harder to treat.

Your claim that Chet NEVER tried the pH Miracle is ridiculous. Not only do people close to him know that he was involved with you and your pH Miracle cancer cure. But Chet documented it on his blog and spoke openly about it to everyone.

  32. To: BJames,

AGAIN you’ve completely missed the point. I’ll try to make this simple for you.

You don’t debunk someone else’s scientific opinions with ad hominem attacks and appeals to authority. Likewise, offering tortured and fraudulent statistics from dubious and unknown sources as proof just amounts to grasping at straws. You also don’t prove YOUR science is correct by presenting what amounts to nothing more than the OPINIONS of scientists that were relevant more than a hundred years ago. And you certainly don’t prove the legitimacy of alternative TO medicine cancer treatments by offering an example like Dr Ryke-Geerd Hamer and his disgustingly dangerous and bizarre theory on the cause of cancer. A theory that claims ALL cancer victims themselves are responsible for their getting cancer. Here’s an example of what happened to one young woman who put all her faith in the good Dr Ryke-Geerd Hamer. If you have the stomach take a look. http://www.ariplex.com/ama/amamiche.htm

What you have done is to turn the discussion into a rant about all you feel is wrong with modern medicine. This was intentional on your part, because you can’t defend Young’s claim that he can cure cancer with his green smoothies. Nor can you provide ANY scientific evidence that proves Young’s theory on what causes disease is anywhere near being correct. So you do what every other defender of quackery does, you hijack the discussion and make it about all of your perceived failings of mainstream medicine.

What ever there is wrong with conventional medicine it has nothing to do with Robert O Young's claim that he can cure cancer, and all other disease for that mater. Claiming that one thing is wrong, doesn’t automatically make Robert O Young’s claims right.

As I said at the very beginning of this thread, I believe this is fraud. Show me one single piece of evidence proving Young’s claim that his green drink will cure cancer. By evidence, I don’t mean YouTube testimonials or other anecdotal stories. But
scientific, peer reviewed, double blind study, published in a reputable journal that shows Young’s treatment cures cancer.

Young has been promoting his cancer cure for years. If he were a legitimate scientist and researcher as he claims to be, where is the scientific evidence proving his claims?
Since you are so fond of quotes from ancient people, I’ve got one for you.

2,000 years ago by Hippocrates of Cos.
Recognized as the father of medicine, he stated:

    “There are, in fact, two things, science and opinion;

the former begets knowledge, the latter ignorance.”

Show me the science that proves Robert O Young is right. Otherwise don’t bother responding.
