Common Highly Acidic and Poisonous Antibiotics Linked to Serious and Potentially-Deadly Effects

What are Antibiotics?

Antibiotics are the creation of fermenting a yeast or mold with a sugar creating a toxic acidic waste product.  For example the common antibiotic penicillin is made by taking the yeast penicillium and then adding sugar to make an acidic waste product or ferment called penicillin.  That’s it!  So every time you hear the word antibiotic THINK ‘against life’ because that is what antibiotics are – they are poisonous noxious waste products of fermentation from yeast and mold that destroy life – Period!

Fluoroquinolones: The Deadliest Antibiotics on the Market?

Fluoroquinolones are among the most commonly prescribed class of antibiotics in the United States.

Among the most well-known is Cipro (made by Bayer), which became a household name during the anthrax scare that occurred shortly after 9/11. Levaquin is a close second.

All antibiotics carry a high-risk for destroying organs, glands and tissues, but the fluoroquinolones are in a class by themselves when it comes to their potential to cause serious, permanent injuries and even DEATH!

If your doctor hands you a prescription for a fluoroquinolone antibiotic (this could be not only Cipro or Levaquin but also Avelox or generics ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin, and moxifloxacin, or others), be very certain that your condition warrants the risks that come along with taking these drugs.

Fluoroquinolones have fluoride as a central part of the drug. Fluoride is a known neurotoxin, and drugs with an attached fluoride can penetrate into very sensitive tissues.

The fluoroquinolones have the unique ability to penetrate your blood-brain barrier, entering your brain and damaging your central nervous system. Many of these drugs have already been removed from the market due to their toxicity, and those that remain are riddled with black box warnings required by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

In 2008, the FDA required seven fluoroquinolone antibiotics to add a black-box warning because they pose a risk of tendinitis and increase the risk of a tendon rupture by three to four times.

But this is far from the only risk. Levaquin, for instance, which was the best-selling antibiotic in 2010, faces thousands of lawsuits a year from people who have been seriously harmed after taking it. The reactions can be body-wide, impacting your central nervous system, musculoskeletal, visual and renal systems, sometimes simultaneously. Among the serious reactions reported are:

Retinal detachment, which can cause blindness Hallucinations Nausea and diarrhea
Acute kidney failure Psychotic reactions Hearing problems
Brain fog Painful rashes Disruptions to blood sugar metabolism
Depression Phototoxicity Peripheral neuropathy

In a 2001 study by Dr. Jay Cohen, the following reaction rates were documented: 2

  • Nervous system symptoms occurred in 91 percent of patients (pain, tingling and numbness, dizziness, malaise, weakness, headaches, anxiety and panic, loss of memory, psychosis)
  • Musculoskeletal symptoms in 73 percent of patients (tendon ruptures, tendonitis, weakness, joint swelling)
  • Sensory symptoms in 42 percent of patients (tinnitus, altered visual, olfactory, and auditory function)
  • Cardiovascular symptoms in 36 percent of patients (tachycardia, shortness of breath, chest pain, palpitations)
  • Skin reactions in 29 percent of patients (rashes, hair loss, sweating, intolerance to heat or cold)
  • Gastrointestinal symptoms in 18 percent of patients (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain)

In a letter to his Congressman, he wrote:

“These severe reactions are occurring in patients who are usually healthy, active, and young. Most often, the antibiotics are prescribed for mild infections such as sinusitis, urinary or prostate infections. Most reactions occur very quickly, sometimes with just a few doses of the fluoroquinolone antibiotic. Reactions are acute, severe, frightening, and often disabling.

Since the publication of my article with its 45 cases two and a half years ago, I have received e-mails from more than 100 people seeking help for their reactions. In most cases, their doctors have dismissed their complaints or outright denied that the reactions could occur with fluoroquinolones. Yet extensive medical workup do not find any other cause. Worse, there are no known effective treatments. Thus, these people suffer pain and disability for weeks, months, and years.”

Physiologically ALL antibiotics compromise the delicate alkaline pH of the blood and tissues forcing healthy cells to become bacteria and bacteria to become yeast and mold.  Antibiotics do not kill bacteria!  They acidify the body fluids causing biological transformations of healthy and unhealthy cells, including bacteria to yeast and yeast to mold.

When you understand that matter cannot be created nor can it be destroyed it can only change its form or function than and only than will you understand that antibiotics cause an acidic change in your body fluids causing unhealthy change leading to disease and death.

Watch the following investigative report and share with everyone you love and care about that antibiotics are dangerous and should NEVER be taken under any circumstance without suffering, sooner-or-later a serious side-effect.

One of the most commonly prescribed drugs in America is causing severe and painful reactions to hundreds of thousands of people taking it, according to research done by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and medical doctors around the country.

The line of antibiotics is called fluoroquinolones.  They are more commonly referred to by their product names or sponsors, which are:

  • Noroxin® (norfloxacin)—Merck and Co.
  • Cirpo® Cipro XR® (ciprofloxacin)—Bayer HealthCare
  • Levaquin® (levofloxacin)—Janssen Pharmaceuticals
  • Avelox® (moxifloxican)—Bayer HealthCare
  • Factive® (gemifloxican)—Cornerstone Therapeutics
  • Ofloxacin—generic

Albuquerque resident Joanne Corwin used Cipro® four years ago for an uncomplicated urinary tract infection.  By the 12th pill, Joanne told KOB 4 her body was rejecting it in the most painful and agonizing way.

“It was terrifying and heartbreaking,” Joanne said.  “The pain was indescribable.”

Fluoroquinolones are like the bazookas in the arsenal of antibiotics.  They are very strong and often doctors will prescribe them to treat minor infections.  But it’s like using a cannon to kill a fly.

The potency of the pill sent Joanne’s body into what amounted to be years’ worth of pain.  This is a list of just a few of the side effects Joanne says she experienced:

  • Hair loss
  • Constant ringing in her ears
  • Retinal damage, leaving black spots in her vision
  • Onset depression and anxiety
  • Inability to swallow
  • Intolerance to many foods
  • Kidney damage
  • Liver damage
  • Arrhythmia
  • Painful joints and tendons
  • Burning sensation on the skin
  • Skin rashes and sores
  • Muscle Atrophy
  • Sudden seizures

“At looking at the possible side effects, I think the only one I didn’t experience was agonal death struggle.  My goodness, that means you’re dying in agony,” Joanne said.

Fluoroquinolones come with a long list of warnings, usually in small print accompanying the prescription.

Charles Bennett, M.D. is a leading researcher on fluoroquinolones.  He spoke with KOB 4 from his office at the University of South Carolina.

“You’re talking about hundreds of thousands of people with a side effect,” Dr. Bennett said.

Dr. Bennett’s work in 2004 led the FDA to add a black box warning to fluoroquinolones.  A black box warning is the highest level of a warning the FDA can add to a drug to encourage doctors and consumers to read the potential side effects.

Dr. Bennett is now petitioning the FDA to add another warning regarding possible mitochondrial toxicity.  In short, mitochondrial toxicity is a breakdown of your body’s cells.

In April, 2013, the FDA released its own research findings that showed a link of fluoroquinolone usage to mitochondrial toxicity.  The same report shows the toxicity could lead to neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and ALS.

“Would it be accurate to say that if you’re taking fluoroquinolones today, there could be a latent effect later in life…maybe 10, 15 years down the road?” asked 4 Investigates Reporter Chris Ramirez.

“That’s a very important question,” answered Dr. Bennett.  “We’ve seen a delayed onset of people who use the drug, then have toxicity that we would potentially associate with the drug.  But to verify these latent toxicities, it will take a tremendous amount of science.  But that is our working hypothesis.”

Joanne, who is a normally a private person, is stepping out of her comfort zone and taking on an advocacy role to encourage the FDA to add the mitochondrial toxicity warning to fluoroquinolones.  She also shared her story in the hopes it would encourage more dialogue between physicians and their patients about drug side effects.

She hopes patients have the courage to question their doctors about any kind of treatment they prescribe.  And Joanne hopes people know—no one knows your body like you do, not even your doctor.
