According to research, almonds contain phytates which are considered anti-nutrieint and can reduce the absorption of calcium in our body.  The best way to reduce the phytic acid in almonds is soaking them in alkaline water at a pH of 9.5.   The best ratio for soaking is to use is 3 : 1 or 3 part almonds to 1 part alkaline water at a pH of 9.5.  If you want to get similar texture like cow’s milk then you should use 1.5 : 1 water : almonds ratio.
